Igorot Engineer Earned Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence at UP-Diliman Campus


Cordillera - From optimizing complex chemical processes to building advanced neural networks, Engr. Alister Marc Bangsail Domilies embodies the brilliance and grit of the modern Filipino engineer. A proud Cordilleran, Alister’s story is one of unwavering dedication, intellectual curiosity, and a vision to harness technology for the greater good.

Engr. Domilies, who grew up in La Trinidad, Benguet, traces his roots to Guinaong, Mankayan, Benguet through his father, and to Tadian, Mountain Province through his mother. With the strength and resilience instilled by his Cordilleran heritage, he has consistently turned challenges into opportunities for growth.

As a Department of Science and Technology (DOST) scholar, Alister’s exceptional academic prowess and perseverance shone early on. Securing the prestigious DOST scholarship was no small feat—it demanded not only intelligence but an unwavering commitment to excellence. This same drive carried him through his studies at Saint Louis University, where he graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering.

In the October 2021 Chemical Engineering Licensure Examination, Engr. Domilies made his region proud by placing 3rd nationwide, with an impressive rating of 82.50 percent. His remarkable achievement is a testament to his discipline and passion for the field.

But Alister’s journey didn’t stop at chemical engineering. Recognizing the transformative power of emerging technologies, he pursued a Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of the Philippines Diliman campus—an area poised to revolutionize industries and reshape societies. With this cutting-edge expertise, Engr. Domilies is uniquely positioned to develop innovative solutions that bridge his knowledge of chemical processes with the limitless possibilities of AI.
