Cordillera - A young Cordilleran police and a recipient of the Medalya ng Kagalingan is set to lead Baguio's contact tracing team to Cebu city to assist in the local government's effort in improving their contact tracing methodology to curb the transmission of the coronavirus.
Police Chief Inspector Maximo Sumeg-ang Jr. will lead the four-man contract tracing experts who will accompany Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong to Cebu city on July 8, 2020.
Sumeg-ang was among the Cordilleran cops who were promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel for their great contribution in the liberation of Marawi.
Sumeg-ang is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy 2006 and currently work as the chief of the City Intelligence Unit of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO).
Upon the request of Police Brig. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro, Central Visayas Police director, Mayor Magalong and his five-man team led by Sumeg-ang will share their expertise in the contact tracing methodology as well as share their digital surveillance system to trace possible coronavirus carrier.
The system involves identification and detection of the source and possible sources of infection, isolation of these persons, testing, and tracing of the close and remote contacts for quarantine, testing, disinfection and medical protocols, according to MB news.
