Cordillera - A proud Cordilleran soldier from Kalinga is set to compete in
the upcoming world singing competition - the World Championship of
Performing Arts (WCOPA) which will be held in July 2023 in California,
United States of America.
Corporal Sessy Lou Bucalen Salazar assigned at the 5th Division in Isabela is among
the representative the Philippines in the said competition after passing two
auditions, and now heeding to Manila for a bootcamp in preparation for the
event.
Corporal Salazar has been an active duty of the Philippine army for nine
years and she is the vocalist of the 5ID Band of the 5th Infantry Division,
Philippine Army based in Camp Melchor F Dela Cruz, Upi, Gamu, Isabela.
In 2021, Salazar represented his province in the local singing competition
"Tawag ng Tanghalan"
WCOPA is an international competition often cited as the Official “Talent
Olympics” for aspiring performers and entertainers, according to its
website.
Contestants are coming from different parts of the world including the USA,
Canada, Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, Asia and South
Africa.
