Police Cordillera donates P3.4 million from their salary to Cagayan rehab program

Cordillera - Personnel from the Police Provincial Officer Cordillera (PRO-COR) have voluntarily contributed a portion of their salary to aid in the rehabilitation efforts in Cagayan and Bicol region.

In a news from MB, a total of 3,407,875 has been contributed by individual personnel from different police offices in the region. 

The Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO) donated P535,910.00, Apayao PPO, P157,200; Baguio City Police Office, P509,400; Benguet PPO, P532,500; Ifugao PPO, P320,200; Kalinga PPO, P405,900; and Mountain Province PPO, P283,000.00.

The Regional Mobile Force Battalion chipped in P297,500, while personnel from the Regional Head Quarters also contributed a total of P249,855.00. Also, the Regional Support Units shared P116,410 of their salaries.

In a low-key ceremonial turn-over at Kalinga PPO grounds, a check for the collected funds of P2.04 million were handed over by PROCOR Director Brig. Gen. R’Win S. Pagkalinawan to Police Regional Office 2 Deputy Director for Administration Brig. Gen. Edgar DM Cacayan.

Meanwhile, coordination is being made with PRO 5 for the turn-over of P1,367,875 in cash assistance of PROC o the people of Bicol Region.

It was the third time that PROC conducted the Bayanihan Fund Challenge. Previously, P11.7 million was accumulated for the “Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko” Program, while P4.1 million was collected for the Sadanga Footbridge Challenge.

The Bayanihan Fund Challenge has been a way for the PNP to selflessly share and provide help and support to those who are in need. Also, the cash donations given were strictly voluntary with no standard amount of contribution specified.
