Baguio residents praised for their obedience and being respectful to laws and regulations during ECQ

Cordillera - "Our people had been obedient and respectful of the laws and the advisories we had issued since the ECQ declaration,"
That was the message of the Baguio City mayor Benjamin Magalong as  many people from other areas are now looking up to the city as a role model in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

He also pointed out that the discipline of the people is one of the key to the city's success in keeping Covid-19 cases down to a minimum.

Recently, the city government of Baguio has been commended by National Task Force Covid-19 spokesperson Retired General Restituto Padilla for keeping zero cases for more than 10 days.

Padilla pointed three important steps that the city has implemented; transparency and communication, mass testing and effective contact tracing.

The city mayor however, noted that some people had ignored the laws and regulations just what had happened yesterday at the Baguio City market.

"There were days when lapses had been observed as that transpired yesterday at the Baguio City Market where physical distancing was ignored," Magalong said via Public Information Office - Baguio.
"We appeal therefore to our constituents to always be mindful of the distancing requirement and other health and safety protocols at all time and at all cost because our safety and yes, our lives now depend on it," he added.

As of 14 April 2020, the city of Baguio has recorded 15 Covid-19 cases, 12 of which have already recovered.
