Cordillera - Netizens were impressed by a flight attendant's action in helping a pregnant passenger aboard PAL in delivering her baby.

Marigold Parreño, a Saint Louis University (SLU) nursing graduate and working as a flight attendant of PAL flight PR 683, was part of the crew who were instrumental in the delivery of a baby while the plane was still in the skies travelling from Dammam, Saudi Arabia to Manila.

Parreño, who is also a registered nurse helped deliver a healthy baby girl from a passenger who went into labor on board the flight, which was still 4 hours away from Manila.

According to Paulo Infante, a PAL employee, he witnessed how her friend Marigold Parreño with the other crew stepped up to assist the passenger throughout the labor.

"What a very proud moment for PAL! FA Marigold Parreño assisted a passenger in labor during PR 683 (DMM to MNL) and successfully helped her deliver a healthy baby girl four hours before the plane landed in Manila. Yan ang BPA! Friend ko yan!" Infante wrote in a post on January 26.

According to Parreño, she believes that the Bayanihan spirit is still alive and described the incident as a beautiful scene of "Bayanihan" at its finest.

"Thank you for all the heartfelt messages and congratulations from all of you. It truly warms my heart and inspires me. I would't have done it without the help of my PR683 crew especially Maam Danica Panganiban, Sir Bryan Peralta, Maam Apple Joanne Taguinin and the rest of the crew and of course to our Purser, Guerick Mariano. All the more so because they were the ones who were there assisting me all throughout the process together with the help of many good samaritans on board. It was a beautiful scene of "Bayanihan" at its finest." Parreño wrote in her FB.
