Igorota pilot from Benguet is First Female Chief Pilot of Asia

Cordillera - Igorota pilot Capt. Amorelle Martinez is a proud Cordilleran who hails from Bokod, Benguet. She is the first female Chief Pilot in Asia. 

Capt. Martinez was a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Management and Military Officer Rank.

She also took formal pilot training at the Philippine Air Force Flying School, where she held key positions before retiring as the Director for Operations in 2008.  

She served the Armed Forces of the Philippines  (AFP) as military pilot before joining the PAL Express where she worked as the Chief Pilot.

At the PAF, she flew the CESSNA, the SF 260 MP and the NOMAD 22.

In 2017, Capt. Martinez received the STAR Award of the PAL group for being the captain of Airbus A320/321 Captain in logging a total of 9,678 flying hours.

A chief pilot main job is to oversee all pilots, ground personnel, and flight attendants. The duties includes scheduling flights, coordinating aircraft maintenance, and ensuring the department meets all local and federal regulations.

Igorota pilot receives Leadership Award in Basic Helicopter Pilot Training (BHPT) Class 2020 of PNP-SAF

Cordillera - A proud Igorota cop received the Leadership Award in the just concluded Basic Helicopter Pilot Training (BHPT) Class 2020 of PNP-SAF  on November 8, 2021.

PMAJ Jonalyn B. Malnat who hails from Ifugao is the only woman in the class who graduated in the BHPT.

Malnat is now a member of the PNP-SAF Air Unit aviators  who will be in command of the PNP fleet of rotary wing aircraft.

PNP-SAF Air Unit is the only technical unit of the SAF along with its 15-line battalions. 

The air unit provides support to all PNP units during police operations, tactical operations, disaster relief, search and rescue operations, and other field and staff flight operations.

Aside being a pilot of the PNP, PMAJ Malnat works as the Assistant Chief, Operations Branch and OIC of the Police Community Relations Section, PNP SAF.

P2LT. Lei Vanette Alangui - First Igorota to graduate from Philippine Airforce Military Training Class of 2019

Cordillera - A proud Igorota from the town of Sagada, Mountain Province is one of the successful graduate of the Philippine Airforce (PAF) Military Training Class of 2019. 

P2Lt. Lei Vanette Alangui, a registered nurse is now a certified military pilot of the elite branch of the Philippine army after finishing rigorous 15-months of training.

Alangui is a proud Igorota from the Aplai tribe in Sagada.

In 2014, she participated in the Department of Science and Technology's Central Luzon Health and Research Development Consortium where she won the poster place and oral presentation on the determination of the Anti Angionic Activity of While Angel.

The Philippine Air Force Flying School is the "Air Force Academy of the Philippines located in the Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas. 

Graduates of the academy are commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant (2Lt) in the Philippine Air Force. 

PLt. Alangui is now among the PAF pilots who came from the Cordillera Administrative Region.
