Cordillera - A proud Igorota officer, PMAJ Jonalyn B. Malnat, is the class
commander of the Basic Helicopter Pilot Training (BHPT) Class 2020 of the
Philippine National Police - Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) air unit.
PMAJ Malnat, the only woman in the class to have received the Leadership
Award in the just concluded BHPT on November 8, 2021.
In 2006, Malnat joined the Special Action Force or SAF, which is the Elite
Force Unit of the PNP and became the president of the 'Matatag' Class.
Joining the SAF, PMAJ Malnat experienced hardship, low morale and mixed
feelings while undergoing the training. She experienced tears, sweat, joint
pain, body aches and almost all the pain inside the training center.
But those hardships did not stop her, instead it became a challenge for her
to continue and fulfill one of her dreams in life - to become a full
-fledged Policewoman.
After six months in the training center, she was ranked Top 1 of the Public
Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) Class 2007.
To be a full -fledged 'Tagaligtas', PMAJ Malnat underwent the Commando
Course where she experienced more pain and hardship than what she
experienced when she trained at PSBRC.
Despite the hardships and despite being a woman, she was presented as Top
3- of SAF Commando Course CL 47-2008 out of 100 who underwent the
training.
