Cordillera - Ifugao fighter Stephen Loman of Team Lakay defeated Shoko Sato by unanimous decision in their bantamweight clash in ONE: X at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday, March 26.
The former Brave CF bantamweight king displayed his powerful solid punches that penetrated Sato's defenses, although Loman admitted he couldn't get a better shot at Sato because of height advantage.
“My punches did not land because I was struggling to get my range, it is what is is. Sato is a tough opponent,” said Loman.
Sensing he could lose some points to victory, Loman transitioned to ground game in the later rounds, proving to be more effective as it weakens the Japanese fighter.
At the end of the three rounds, Loman got the nod of the judges, declaring him the winner via UD.
Loman improved his winning record to a 15 wins and 2 looses, giving him a chance of a possible title shot against ONE bantamweight king John Lineker who defeated Kevin Belingon.
