Cordillera - ENS CARRIE FAITH B MAGANNON PN, from Bulo, Tabuk City, Kalinga, is a member of PMA “Masidlawin” Class of 2020 and a graduate of Royal Military College of Canada (RMCC) Class 2021.
In September 2017, during her Third Class Year, (or second year for regular universities) Cadet 3CL MAGANNON was sent to Canada as a Foreign Service Academy Cadet along with 3CL FELIPE.
In her preparation year in RMCC she joined the Jolliet Squadron and was reassigned to Tracy Squadron in the succeeding months of her training. She took the Basic Military Officer Course and afterwards had several Naval Trainings held in British Columbia and Canada.
Additionally, she joined the Running Club where she actively participated in Cross Country Events and other Running Events.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, she was sent back to PMA on April 4, 2020 and attended Distance Learning via VTC to complete her degree in RMCC.
She successfully completed the International Officer Training Program (IOTP) with a Bachelor of Military Arts and Science (BMASc) degree and virtually graduated on May 20, 2021.
On October 22, 2021 she was donned the rank of Ensign (ENS) in the Philippine Navy by the Chief of Staff, AFP, LTGEN JOSE C FAUSTINO JR PA and Superintendent, PMA, LTGEN FERDINAND M CARTUJANO PAF.
In her stay in Canada, she learned that diversity is power because it helped to improve and enrich the Canadian Armed Forces. Further, she believes that diversity could do the same in our country.
Finally, “God will never give you more than you can handle” is Carrie’s mantra on her momentous journey as one of the two first Filipino graduates at RMCC.
