Cordillera - Internet users in three provinces in the Cordillera Administrative Region will soon able to access the world wide web faster and more reliable.

Telecom company Converge has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Provincial Local Governments Units of Kalinga, Mt. Province, and Benguet for the Pure Optic Cable Laying project that aims to speed up internet connections in those provinces.

Fiber Internet Technology is the most innovative connectivity in the market today. It boasts of a higher bandwidth which translates to higher Internet speed.

Unlike DSL, Fiber connection allows symmetric connectivity which lets you download and upload files at the same time without a loss in bandwidth.

No data congestion so data is delivered instantly. Data  does not degrade when it passes through Fiber so you can enjoy consistently fast Internet speed.

Work from home individuals who rely heavily on the internet can benefit from this project as they can perform faster internet connectivity.

The project by Converge aims to provide internet connectivity even to the farthest barangays in Cordillera until 2023.

The  MOA signing is attended by Secretary Panelo and Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas, Mountain Province Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan Jr., Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estranero representing Kalinga Governor Ferdinand Tubban, Sagada Mayor James Pooten, and Tadian Mayor  Sagada and Tadian Mayor Constito Masweng.
