Cordillera - Internet users in three provinces in the Cordillera Administrative Region will soon able to access the world wide web faster and more reliable.
Telecom company Converge has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Provincial Local Governments Units of Kalinga, Mt. Province, and Benguet for the Pure Optic Cable Laying project that aims to speed up internet connections in those provinces.
Fiber Internet Technology is the most innovative connectivity in the market today. It boasts of a higher bandwidth which translates to higher Internet speed.

The project by Converge aims to provide internet connectivity even to the farthest barangays in Cordillera until 2023.
The MOA signing is attended by Secretary Panelo and Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas, Mountain Province Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan Jr., Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estranero representing Kalinga Governor Ferdinand Tubban, Sagada Mayor James Pooten, and Tadian Mayor Sagada and Tadian Mayor Constito Masweng.
