RT-PCR tests no longer required when traveling to Benguet

Cordillera - Benguet has announced that it would no longer be requiring travelers to present a negative reverse transcription-plymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test or swab test when entering the province.

In PIATF meeting called by Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas on Friday (March 5, 2021), it was agreed that RT-PCR test are no longer required from people entering the province.

It was also agreed that Travel Authorities (TA) are no longer required as per requirement by the IATF. However, if destination LGU requires such, the Provincial LGU will issue a TA for the travelers.

For LSIs and ROFs, they still have to be triaged at the Quarantine Facility in Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Further, for inter-municipal travels, there is no need for health declaration forms (HDF), but governor Diclas said travelers have to strictly adhere to health protocols such as wearing facemasks which will be strictly monitored by the PNP.
