Cordillera - The 'Comboys' of Benguet are the main transporters of fresh vegetables from the farm to the truck that will bring them to the trading post.
It's not a joke to be a comboy. The average distance between the vegetable farm and the main accessible road is around 1.2 kilometers.
That's the distance these comboys have to travel with heavy loads of veggies on their shoulder. And they have to travel them fast.
In a film produced by GMA's Born to Be Wild, Doc Fern's documented the life of a comboy to understand how difficult it is to bring fresh veggies to the consumers' table.
