University of Baguio is Top Performing School in March 2022 MedTech Licensure Exam


Cordillera - The University of Baguio (UB) has ranked number 1 in the March 2022 MedTech Licensure Examination. 

UB acquired a total rating of 82.18 percent making it as the Top Performing School nationwide. 

Meanwhile, Christian Jake Empiso Palque, a graduate of the Saint Louis University (SLU) ranked in top 3 garnering a score of 88. 40 percent.

Also a graduate of SLU, Mira Kristal Cardenas Reinido ranked 9th with a score of 86.40 percent. 

Audrey Nicole Dumlao from the Far Eastern University - Manila campus is the top 1 among the 1,268 who passed the exam.

According to The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), there are a total of  1,268 out of 2,752 who passed the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medical Technology.

The exam was administered in different cities of the country including Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.

SLU and UB, Top performers in January 2022 MedTech Licensure Exam


Cordillera - The Saint Louis University (SLU) and the University of Baguio (UB) are the top performers in the recently held January 2022 Medical Technology Licensure Exam. 

SLU ranked first with a 93.98 percent passing rate while UB landed on the 2nd spot with a passing rate of 84.21 percent.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 1,307 out of 2,619 passed the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medical Technology in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Rosales, San Fernando, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga this January 2022.

Meanwhile, SLU grad Cliff Charlzon Farol Patil-ao was among the top 10 performers (9th spot) in the examination with a rating of 87.30 percent.

SLU and UB, among top performing schools in the March 2021 MedTech Licensure Exams

Cordillera - The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 1,921 out of 3,251 passed the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medical Technology in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pangasinan, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga this March 2021. 

Three students from Cordillera made it to the top 10. 

Ryan Anthony C. Lauron of the University of Baguio (UB) and Julius Ryan R. Salmos of the Saint Louis University (SLU) both landed in the 4th spot with a rating of 87.60%.

Meanwhile Aldous Rein B. Nonog, a graduate of Saint Louis University (SLU) made it to the 9th spot with a rating of 86.90%

The PRC also released the top performing schools in the March 2021 Medical Technology Licensure Exam. 

Saint Louis University ranked as the top performing school with a passing rate of 98.01% while the University of Baguio landed of the 4th spot with a passing rate of 90.37%.

The PRC also announced that beginning April 20 to May 14, 2021, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line.  

Board passers are encourage to go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration. 

Those who will register are required to bring the following: downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, notice of admission (for identification only), 2 pieces passport sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of documentary stamps and 1 piece short brown envelope. 

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

University of Baguio Voices wins MBC National Choral Competitions, beats world champions

Cordillera - In a remarkable display of musical genius, the University of Baguio (UB) snatched the championship title at the MBC National Choral Competition held at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City last Dec. 13.
The UB Voices Chorale landed on the top spot in the open category, beating the biggest names in choral singing. The all-male Koro Ilustrado – dubbed as the Philippines’ best male choir – came in second. 

Another force to reckon with, the Los Cantantes de Manila (former members of the University of the East  Chorale, one of the country’s most accomplished university choirs), a world champion in Europe (considered the seat of choir music), settled third. 

Meanwhile, the Technological Institute of the Philippines Choral Society, a gold medalist in the choral contest Sing’n’Joy Manila in 2013, finished as fourth.

The UB Voices was also named the Best Show Choir during the event.

Dr. Bienvenido Constantino Jr., the group’s conductor and adviser, mentioned how fierce the competition was, noting, “We went through tough times and difficulties.”

A qualifying sing-off among over a hundred choirs was held last Sept. 28 in Cauayan, Isabela, wherein UB took the first place. 

At the semi-finals, which followed last Dec. 12, UB still ranked first among the top 28 that competed. 

Finally, during the grand finals, UB picked up the title.

The participants performed three pieces: the contest piece, a novelty piece, and an elective.

Singer and actress Nanette Inventor graced the awarding ceremonies.

In 2012, UB won second place in the same competition, organized by the media company Manila Broadcasting Company.

University of Baguio among finest criminology school in the Philippines

Cordillera - The University of Baguio School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety (UB SCJPS) has emerged as one of the finest criminology institutions in the country. 

Based on the results of the two criminologist licensure examinations in June and November 2019 including program accreditation status and faculty-student ratio, UB made it to the 2nd spot with an overall score of 83.01 percent. 

UB continues to sustains its program of providing quality education for the students and as a result, it produces topnotchers in the criminologist licensure examinations over the years.

The School has a strong profile in instruction and faculty, sustainability of programs, linkages, and track record of graduates. SCJP also produced professionals in different fields of law enforcement as well as the academe. 

UB SCJPS alumnus are occupying high ranking and respectable positions in the academe and the industry. Further, UB SCJPS B.S. Criminology program was awarded PACUCOA Level III and twice awarded Center of Excellence in Criminology.  

It was the first to offer Bachelor of Forensic Science in the Philippines, it was also the first to offer Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Master of Science in Criminology, Master in Crisis and Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Doctor of Philosophy in Criminology programs in Northern Philippines.  

With relevant training programs in place, graduates are certain to acquire the skills needed in the global arena.

Other criminology schools in the Cordillera that top the list are the University of the Cordilleras in top 1 and the Ifugao State University in rank 4.

UB receives four distinguished awards from PACUCOA

Cordillera - The University of Baguio received four (4) distinguished awards from Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) in the recently concluded 31st Annual General Assembly via zoom conference.




UB was once again recognized for being the Institution with the Highest Number of Accredited Programs in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).  

Moreover, PACUCOA conferred Level III Reaccredited Status to three programs-- BS Tourism Management, High School and the Science High School. 

The three programs were accorded the distinction of being the FIRST to have been granted LEVEL III Reaccredited Status in the Cordillera Administrative Region.

These accomplishments and achievements of the University of Baguio once more testify to the University of Baguio’s unwavering commitment to quality and wholesome education.

Dr. Julius Gat-eb awarded Outstanding Private School Teacher

Cordillera - The exceptional work of a Baguio teacher was honored during the 2020 Division Search for Outstanding Employees and Schools. 

In a post from the University of Baguio, Dr. Julius T. Gat-eb received the award as the Outstanding Private School Teacher for Secondary Level.

The prestigious achievement was awarded by the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (Praise) of the Department of Education Baguio City.

The award is a recognition of the efforts of teaching and non-teaching staff that have been noticeably performed beyond their mandates.

These initiatives made significant differences and changes to Dep-Ed's internal and external stakeholders most especially, to the learners.

UB grad Jenny N. Diwayan from Besao is Top 10 in January 2020 Architect Licensure Examinations

Cordillera - A graduate of a Baguio-based university is among the 10 topnotchers of the January 2020 Architect Licensure Examinations, according to the latest results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
Jenny Ngala Diwayan from the University of Baguio landed on Top 10 after earning a score of 81.70 percent.

Diwayan is a daughter of Gertrude Diwayan from Besao, Mt. Province according to a source.

Another graduate from Baguio, Rhicel Gonzales Sapasap from Saint Louis University topped the list with a score of 82 percent.
The PRC announced that 1, 242 out of 2,229 passed the Architect Licensure Examination (ALE) given by the Board of Architecture in the different testing locations in the Philippines including Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Legaspi last January 24 and 29, 2020.

Megan Joyce Herrera Cruz from UP-Diliman and Denzel Lance Leon Dantis from Mapua University-Manila shared the second spot with a rating of 83.20 percent.

Saint Louis University, UB among top performing school in Med Tech board exams

Cordillera - The University of Baguio and Saint Louis University made it to the top ten of the best performing schools in the recent Medical Technologist licensure examinations given by the Philippine Regulation Commission recently. 
Saint Louis University (SLU) is ranked as the second best performing school while the University of Baguio (UB) made it to the sixth as best performing school in the March 2019 Medical Technologist board exams released by the Professional Regulation Commission. 

Out of the 286 examinees from SLU, 285 passed the board exams with a record of 99.65 passing rate while UB had a 92.55 passing rate with 84 passers out of the 91 examinees. 

SLU is also the second best performing school in the March 2019 Pharmacist Licensure Examination with a 97.22 passing rate.

The PRC announced that 2,801 out of 4,092 passed the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medical Technology in the following major cities in the Philippines namely, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Iloilo, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga and some cities in Metro Manila.

The PRC also announced the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line from April 1 to April 12, 2019. 

Passers are advised to visit www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration. 

Those will register are required to bring the following: downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, notice of admission (for identification only), 2 pieces passport sized pictures (colored with while background and complete name tag), 2 sets of documentary stamps and 1 piece short brown envelope. 

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals. 
The oath taking ceremony for the new medical technologist will be announce later, according to PRC. 

Those who failed the board examination but had obtained a general rating of at least 70% can register as Medical Laboratory Technician.
