Igorot actor Jeyrick "Carrot Man" Sigmaton is Film Ambassador 2022

Cordillera - After winning the Best Actor Award during the International Film Festival Manhattan NYC for the Cordilleran Short Film "Dayas" Produced and Directed by Direk Jianlin Floresca. Jeyrick will be joined by the Big Stars of Philippine Cinema for the Film Ambassadors’ Night 2021.

Other Honorees in the said event are: John Arcilla as part of the category "A-Listers", Snooky Serna and Janine Gutierrez | Actor Honorees, Janice De Belen and Carrot Man for | Short Film Actor Honorees and a Special Citation of Vice Ganda.

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will be holding its onsite event on February 27 with an intimate gathering exclusive to this year’s honorees at the MET Theater, the cultural gem of Manila which recently celebrated its 90th anniversary—a fitting home for this very important event.

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is pleased to present the 77 outstanding Filipino film ambassadors who proudly represented the Philippines on the international stage in the past year by receiving awards and recognitions from film festivals all over the globe.

They will join the Camera Obscura Awardees for Artistic Excellence, John Arcilla and Director Erik Matti’s “On The Job: The Missing 8” and Gabay ng Industriya Awardees, Ms. Rosa Rosal (Ilaw ng Industriya) and Mr. Jesse Ejercito (Haligi ng Industriya).

Igorot Carrot Man receives another recognition at 3rd Dangal ng Lahi Awards 2021

Cordillera - Igorot actor Jeyrick Sigmaton was recognized as International Actor of the Year during the 3rd Dangal ng Lahi Awards held on Saturday, November 27, at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila in Parañaque City.

Sigmaton is among the leading actor of a Cordilleran movie "Dayas" in which he won the Best Actor in International Film Festival Manhattan 2021.

'Dayas' is a local film produced by Be Unrivaled Production under the direction of Direk Jianlin De Los Santos Floresca. It is dedicated to the typhoon Ompong Victims in Itogon, Benguet.

It is inspired by a true-to-life story of two Igorots, Hacob and Bantay played by Jeyrick Sigmaton.

Dangal ng Lahi is an award-giving body that recognizes individuals who excel in various fields of expertise, gaining honor and recognition ultimately contributing to the Honor of our race, as Filipinos.

Cordillera - Igorot actor Jeyrick "Carrotman" Sigmaton won the Best Actor for the International Film Festival Manhattan Autumn 2021 in New York (IFFM) for the short film “DAYAS”.

This is the first time an Igorot actor was chosen as Best Actor in the history of the IFFM New York, a testament that Cordilleran talents are among the best in the world.

Sigmaton is among the leading actor of a Cordilleran movie "Dayas" which was included among the Filipino films officially selected for screening in the IFFM.

Igorot actor Sigmaton and Baron Giesler to star in a new action drama movie

Cordillera - A new SineCordillera is set to be produced this year by the Be Unrivaled Production featuring top Igorot actor Jeyrick Sigmaton or Carrotman and award-winning Filipino actor Baron Geisler. 

Geisler revealed the new movie on his social media account.

"Can't wait to work with this very talented group and to be a legit family member of #SineCordillera. Our movie is set in 1941. Woot period film kaabang abang po na action drama movie," Geisler wrote.

This is the first time Geisler is doing and working a movie with Cordilleran casts such as Sigmaton. His latest movie appearance is with the controversial "Tililing" movie where he played one of the patients with mental problems.

For Sigmaton, this upcoming film is his second movie under the Be Unrivaled Production by Direk Jianlin.

Cordillera - Cordillera's young and talented artists including Igorot Carotman Jeyrick Sigmaton will be starring in an upcoming film entitled 'Sine Cordillera'. 

The film is a life-inspired short story that portrays the complexity and duality of life among small-scale gold miners of Itogon, Benguet who had shown immense resiliency during a disaster that happened three years ago.  

Directed by Cordilleran Realtor Jianlin Floresca, the film also showcased the different cultures, tradition and faith of the Igorots. 

"The importance of this film is to showcased [kung] ano ba at paano nabubuhay ang mag Cordillerans, especially ang ating mga kababayang minero," Direk Jianlin said. 

"The advocacy of this film is... to give livelihood sa ating mga artist... at para maipakita ang sariling artistry ng mag Cordillerans," she added.
