What makes Benguet Coffee so good

Cordillera - Benguet Arabica coffee is highly regarded for its unique flavor profile and quality, and here are some reasons why it stands out:

High Altitude Growing Conditions: Benguet is in the Cordillera mountain range, with coffee farms often situated at 1,500 meters or more above sea level. These high altitudes contribute to slower cherry maturation, allowing the beans to de
velop a denser, richer flavor with a balanced acidity that coffee enthusiasts love.

Cool Climate and Ideal Soil: The cool climate and fertile volcanic soil of Benguet provide ideal conditions for growing coffee. The soil's mineral content enhances the coffee’s sweetness and complex flavors, adding to its natural appeal.

Unique Flavor Profile: Benguet Arabica often has tasting notes that include hints of fruity, floral, and chocolatey undertones. Its sweetness, combined with a mild acidity, makes it smooth yet flavorful, setting it apart from other types of Arabica grown in warmer climates.

Traditional Farming Methods: Many Benguet coffee farmers use traditional, organic methods to cultivate and process their beans. These careful, hands-on practices help maintain the coffee’s natural qualities and enhance its unique taste.

Small-Scale and Artisanal Production: Because production is usually small-scale, the coffee beans often get more attention and quality control. This artisanal approach means farmers and producers can carefully sort and process beans to ensure only the best make it to market.

Support for Indigenous Coffee Heritage: Benguet Arabica coffee is part of the cultural heritage of the Cordilleras, grown and harvested by indigenous communities. Buying it often means supporting local farmers and their sustainable farming traditions.
