Benguet State University (BSU) is Top University in Cordillera and North Luzon

Cordillera - Benguet State University (BSU) has solidified its position as a prominent educational institution by maintaining its rank at No. 32 in the Philippines in the latest July 2023 edition of the Ranking Web of Universities.

This achievement comes on the heels of the university's unchanging status from the January 2023 edition.

Notably, BSU has emerged as the foremost university in the North Luzon region, encompassing Regions 1, 2, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

As it retains its top CAR ranking, BSU has overtaken Pangasinan State University and Isabela State University, which have slipped to the second and third spots, respectively, from their prior top positions.

The Ranking Web of University, crafted by the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientรญficas (CSIC), the renowned Spanish public research institution, serves as a key indicator of a university's global performance and visibility.

By evaluating factors such as web content impact, top cited researches, and excellence in top cited papers, the ranking underscores BSU's continued commitment to academic excellence and prominence on the international stage.

Six universities in Cordillera among Top Innovative Universities in the world

Cordillera - Six Higher Education Institutions in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) have achieved remarkable recognition on a global scale. The World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Rankings have acknowledged the impressive performance of these institutions across six crucial criteria.

The areas in which these universities have excelled are Industrial Application, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Ethical Value, Student Mobility and Openness, Crisis Management, and Industrial Revolution. By attaining high rankings in these diverse categories, the universities have demonstrated their commitment to holistic education and impactful contributions to society.

WURI, a recently established international ranking system, was introduced by the Organizing Committee of the Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU). Its objective is to move away from conventional rankings that primarily emphasize quantitative metrics associated with research and academic systems. Instead, WURI focuses on recognizing innovative programs that make a genuine difference in society.

This year's rankings were meticulously organized by the Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC) of South Korea. The IPSNC received invaluable support from four prestigious organizations: the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), HLU, the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies (IPS) based in Seoul, South Korea, and the Taylor Institute of Franklin University Switzerland (FUS) from Switzerland.
