Captain Mangigil is a native of Sabangan, Mountain Province.
Before his assignment to the Aviation Regiment, he served as Platoon Leader, Executive Officer and Company Commander of Bravo Company, and Battalion Staff of the 3rd Infantry “Regardless of What” Battalion, 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division, Philippine Army.
His field assignments were against lawless groups in Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, Nueva Viscaya and Southern Mindanao, particularly in Davao del Norte and Davao City.
After his field duty, he was assigned at Infantry School, Maneuver Center, Training and Doctrine Command as Military Instructor and Logistics Officer.

Captain Mangigil as one of the senior officers of AQC 18, influences his classmates and peers through his quiet but firm demeanor. Major Jay Aldrin B. Sabaten, his Instructor Pilot awarded him with the Army Aviator call sign “Confucius”.
After his successful landing, Captain Mangigil was congratulated by the Officers and Enlisted Personnel of the Regiment present led by Colonel Andre B. Santos, Regiment Commander.
