Cordillera remains free of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus - DOH-CAR

Cordillera - The Department of Health-Center for Health Development-Cordillera has confirmed that the region is still free from the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), according to the Philippine Information Agency Cordillera. 

The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is a virus more specially, a coronavirus identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China. 

China reportedly had some link to a large seafood and animal market, suggesting animal-to-person spread however, a growing number of patients reportedly have not contacted the disease from animal contact, indicating person-to-person spread is occurring, according the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. 

The DOH-Cordillera is reminding the public to practise cleanliness among individuals and their surroundings to prevent the entry of the 2019-nCoV in the Cordillera. 

It also encourages all health workers to be vigilant and take extra precautionary measures when in contact with patients with acute respiratory infection, especially those with travel history to Wuhan China.

Meanwhile, the DOH yesterday has confirmed that there are no cases of 2019-nCoV in the Philippines.

Here are some additional tips to prevent the spread of 2019-nCoV. 

Everyone should practice good hygiene and necessary measures to protect against any kind of viral infections.

1.Washing your hands.
2. Covering your mouth while coughing or sneezing.
3. Avoiding contact with wild or farm animals. 
4. Boosting your immune system to fight infections.
5. Avoiding contact with sick people.
6. Avoid traveling to places where 2019-nCoV are declared hot zones.
