In 2006, Malnat joined the Special Action Force or SAF, which is the Elite Force Unit of the PNP and became the president of the 'Matatag' Class.

Joining the SAF, PMAJ Malnat experienced hardship, low morale and mixed feelings while undergoing the training. She experienced tears, sweat, joint pain, body aches and almost all the pain inside the training center.

But those hardships did not stop her, instead it became a challenge for her to continue and fulfill one of her dreams in life - to become a full -fledged Policewoman.

To be a full -fledged 'Tagaligtas', PMAJ Malnat underwent the Commando Course where she experienced more pain and hardship than what she experienced when she trained at PSBRC.

Despite the hardships and despite being a woman, she was presented as Top 3- of SAF Commando Course CL 47-2008 out of 100 who underwent the training.

In 2011, she was blessed and fortunate to be included in the PNP Lateral Entry Class "PINAGPALA" where she once again proved that she was truly blessed like her class name until she became a full-fledged Police Lieutenant.

Although a full -fledged officer, she has not stopped taking various mandatory and specialized courses in Operation, Intelligence, Investigation and Police Community Relations with the PNP, AFP and private institutions.

During her fourteen years of service, she has received countless awards, including being named SAF Best Junior PCO for Administration at the 37th SAF Founding Anniversary in 2020. In addition, she is also one of the winners among the Ten Outstanding APOLE Members (TOAM) 2020 at the 7th Lateral Entry Day Celebration in conjunction with the 17th Year Anniversary and National Convention on December 17, 2020.

Czar Augustus E Domingo, Filipino born and raised in Tabuk City is the team's Lead Network Engineer/Data Communication Engineer leading the design and implementation of the launching site's communication network.

“The network is one of the critical parts of this project since it is through which the NASA radar, Telemetry, LSTAR, range command center, launch command center, the communication equipment they use (intercoms), and the data communicate to each other,” Domingo said via Tabuk City Kalinga FB page.

“The data they gather from the experimental equipment in the rockets are being transmitted and validated through the data communication,” he said.

Cordillera's biggest Philippine Eagle statue is found in Barlig, Mt. Province

Photo Courtesy || Rian Cael via danielsecotravel.com

Cordillera - Stands at an elevation of more than 1,800 meters above sea level, this huge statue of the Philippine eagle located in the town of Barlig is a beacon of hope for forest conservation, wildlife preservation, and cultural integrity promotion of town's lush rainforests.

It can be recalled that this mountainous spot is where a juvenile Philippine eagle was released back in 2005. The same spot was also the location of the Philippine Monkey-Eagle, locally known as Lawi as proven by the late Barangay Chairman of Lias, Silangan, Mr. Romeo Cofin.

Cofin said that around 50 eagles were previously hunted before leading to zero sightings today. But some locals in the area said they sometimes hear eagles chirping at nighttime, an indication that some eagles are still existing in the area.

The statue of the Philippine Eagle aims to spark initiative of the local government of Barlig to protect the forest as sanctuary of this critically endangered species of eagle.

Record showed that there are less than 400 pairs of this species remaining in the wild, most of which are found in Mindanao.

The Philippine Eagle is a species of a true raptor and relies on pristine primary forest in which to hunt, build its nest and raise its young. It can be found in habitat as low as sea level to around 1,800 meters.

Apart from being one of the largest eagles in the world, it could be argued that the Philippine Eagle is also one of the most striking. It has a massive dark black bill with a tinge of blue, neon yellow feet, and pale gray-blue eyes. Its cottony white belly contrasts with its darker back, and the fringe-like feathers on its legs match the long brown feathers that adorn its head and the back of its neck.

Philippine Eagles are diurnal, which means they hunt, fly, build nests, participate in courtship activities and otherwise go about their business during daytime hours. They rest at night. Despite their large size, these eagles tend to be fast and agile in the air, which helps make them very successful hunters.

Philippine Eagles, like all top predators, play a very important role in their environment. They are what is known as an umbrella species. Just as several people can stand under one large umbrella and be protected from the rain, so too can many species of wildlife be protected by conserving one species like the Philippine Eagle. To protect the eagles, we must protect the monkeys and civets and other animals they need for food, the plants and animals that monkeys and civets feed on, and the trees that Philippine Eagles nest in, which helps protect the other animals that use these trees for food, shelter, and space.

Conserving Philippine Eagles and their habitat automatically provides protection for all the other plants and animals that live there too.
