Cordillera - The Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) is now a DOH-accredited kidney transplant facility - the first accredited hospital in the Cordillera Administrative Region to conduct kidney transplant .
Patients in the region who are suffering from chronic kidney disease and wanted to undergo kidney transplant do not need to travel to Manila or La Union just to have a kidney transplant procedure.
Kidney transplant is the cheapest and most recommended medical procedure to individuals with chronic kidney problems compared to dialysis which is done three times a week.

BGHMC record shows that there are 2,000 chronic kidney patients undergoing dialysis with a 15-percent increase annually.
Health authorities are encouraging Filipinos to donate their organs to help prolonged the lives of others.
