Still Undefeated: Ifugao boxer Carl James Martin WINS again via TKO

Cordillera - Ifugao's youngest and undefeated boxer Carl James "The Wonder Boy" Martin was victorious yet again as he floored his opponent via technical knockout on Saturday at the Manila Arena.

The 20-year old Martin was able to keep his undefeated record when he defeated challenger Philip Luis Cuerdo via TKO in the 3rd round for the Philippine Boxing Federation Bantamweight crown.

Martin as expected delivers exciting fight as he unloaded powerful punches to Cuerdo through out the contest.

It was in the 3rd round that Martin caught Cuerdo with a powerful left hook that sent him to the canvas. 

Cuerdo was able to recover, but the younger Martin's hunger to finish the fight took the shaky Cuerdo with series of punches to the body and head. 

The fight was halted when the Cuerdo's coach came to stop to prevent further damage.

Martin, from Lagawe, Ifugao has never been defeated in his 15 bouts, with 14 wins came via knockouts.

Martin is currently reigns as the World Boxing Organization Oriental Youth bantamweight champion which he won on April 2018 by beating Hashimu Zuberi of Tanzania.

In 2017, he took the Interim World Boxing Council and Asian Boxing Council Continental bantamweight crown by defeating Artid Bamrunguea of Thailand via TKO.

His recent fight prior to facing Cuerdo was in June 10, 2019 when he beat another Thai fighter Yuttichai Wannawong.

Cordilleran undefeated boxer Carl Jammes wins vacant PBF bantamweight title

Cordillera - Cordilleran youngest boxing champion Carl Jammes "Wonder Boy" Martin remains undefeated when he defeated Benezer Alolod of Polomolok on Friday, September 21 at the city hall grounds in Mandaluyong City. 

Martin proved to be too much for the Mindanaoan fighter when he delivered power punches to the body and the head that caused the later to get TKO'd in the 7th round. 

The 20-year old Martin from the province of Ifugao has maintained his zero defeat and 14 victories with all 13 wins coming  by way of knockouts. 

The hard-punching Martin had been training under his new coach and former world champion Gerry Penalosa. 

Martin was recently cited by the Ring Magazine as one of five Filipino prospects under the category "Keep An Eye On" and once compared to senator Manny Pacquiao because of his explosiveness and being a left-handed puncher. 

Martin now filled the vacant PBF bantamweight title. 

In 2018, he retained his World Boxing Organization Oriental Youth bantamweight and World Boxing Association Asia bantamweight titles.

Undefeated Ifugao boxer Carl Jammes “Wonder Boy” Martin to face "dangerous" Indian boxer in June 9

Cordillera - Ifugao youngest boxing sensation Carl Jammes "Wonder Boy" Martin is set to face "dangerous" undefeated Indian boxer on June 9 at the Midas Hotel and Casino in Pasay City. 
Martin is undefeated with a record of 12 wins with all 11 wins came by way of technical knockout (TKO). 

The 20-year-old Martin's last fight was against the veteran Thai champion Pethchorhae Kokietgym who suffered a TKO in the third round during their encounter on February 16 at the SM City North Edsa. 

The hard-punching Martin is a native of Lagawe, Ifugao and had been training under his new coach and former world champion Gerry Penalosa. 

Martin was recently cited by the Ring Magazine as one of five Filipino prospects under the category "Keep An Eye On" and once compared to senator Manny Pacquao by Penalosa because of his explosiveness and left-handed punch.

"The kid has charisma. He's not hard to talk to. Carl is explosive and left-handed. He reminds me of Manny and has tremendous power."
Penalosa promised to keep testing and training Martin and hopefully will get a world title shot next year.

Martin currently holds the WBO Oriental Youth bantamweight title and the WBA Asia bantamweight championship.

Undefeated Ifugao boxer Carl Jammes Martin knocks out Thai foe in 3rd round.

Cordillera - Promising young boxer from Ifugao  proved once again that he has the power punch of a champion after defeating his Thai opponent just before the end of the 3rd round. 

The 19-year old Martin didn't give any chances for the veteran Thai champion to dominate the fight as he scored two knockdowns in the first round and in the third round before finally ending the fight with TKO near the end of the third round.

Martin has now improved his undefeated record with 12 wins with all 11 wins coming by way of TKO.

The young boxer is a native of Lagawe, Ifugao and had been training under his new coach Gerry Penalosa who is giving him a push in his career after his brother Abel asked help from Gerry to allow him to train in his gym after the gym where Martin used to train were destroyed by Typhoon Rosita. 

Peñalosa  donated three pairs of boxing shoes and two heavy bags to Martin  for his training. 

According to Peñalosa, Martin's explosiveness and left-handed punch reminds him of Manny Pacquiao's power. 

"The kid has charisma. He's not hard to talk to. Carl is explosive and left-handed. He reminds me of Manny and has tremendous power. What he lacks is experience. We won't rush him. We'll test him and bring him up slowly. By next year, he could be ready for a world title shot." Peñalosa said. 

At a young age, Martin revealed that Manny, Penalosa, and Z Gorres are his idols. Since he was a kid, he loves boxing and he hopes that one day, he'll make a name for himself in the ring as a champion as well.

Like his cousin Stephen Loman, who is now a famous MMA fighter under Brave Combat Federation and his town mate Kevin Belingon under ONE Championship, Martin will soon become a new Cordilleran champion.

Ifugao boxing sensation Carl Martin knocks out Korean foe, retains undefeated record

Cordillera - Ifugao boxing sensation Carl Jammes Martin successfully defended his World Boxing Organization Oriental Youth Bantamweight title against his WBF Asia Pacific Super Bantamweight Titlist Moon Chul Suh on Saturday, October 27 in Lagawe, Ifugao.

Martin, 19-year old finished his opponent in the fourth round via TKO and retained his undefeated record of 11 wins and no loses. 

All of Martin wins were came by way of knockouts. Last August this year, Martin retired Huerban Qiatehe of Nueva Viscaya in the sixth round.

His success if defending his WBO youth title, Martin has acquired the Luzproba, Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF), WBC ABCO, and WBA-Asia titles since turning pro two years ago, according to Sunstar.

Martin filled the vacant WBO Oriental Youth 118lb division in April when he defeated Hashimura Zuberi from Tanzania in just two rounds.
