You can now pay your BENECO bill thru GCASH app: Here is how

Cordillera - The Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) has announced that its members/consumers can now pay their bill thru GCASH - the number one online mobile payment platform in the country. 

To avoid the inconvenience of spending money and time going out from the house to the BENECO collection offices, members/consumers can now used their mobile phone to pay their bills.

All they have to do is download the GCash app into their smartphones and set up an account.

Once your account is set up, follow the steps bellow to pay your BENECO bill.

1. Tap "Pay Bills"

2. Choose "Electric Utilities' under Categories

3. Scroll down a bit and select "BENECO"

4. Fill in the required details such as the amount you're going to pay, your BENECO Account Number, Account Name and an Email (optional).

5. Carefully check that all details are correct then tap Next. 

6. You can choose to pay using your GCash wallet of via GCredit. Tap "Next" and click "Confirm"

6. An e-receipts will be displayed in which you need to take a screenshot and save it for  future references. If you provided an e-mail, the e-receipt will be sent to your email.

That's it, your BENECO bill is already been paid without going out to the collection centers. 

However, BENECO advises that all past due bills, bills with arrears and surcharges, and disconnected accounts should be settled in any of the collection offices of BENECO.

Igorot warrior of light goes viral online

Cordillera - A photo of lineman Mr. Jordan Mackay Ayawan of the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) has gone viral online after netizens noticed his being handsome and 'taraki' (astig) doing his duty in helping restore power in Leyte.

Ayawan was among the personnel of BENECO who were sent to southern Leyte to help in the restoration of power.

The people of Leyte are thankful to all the linemen who volunteered to bring back electricity in the province that was battered by typhoon Odette in December last year.

Beneco sent has sent 15 linemen and 3 linemen from Mopreco to help restore the power in Southern Leyte and nearby areas that were heavily devastated by the typhoon.

Restaurant in Baguio offers free meal to hardworking BENECO linemen

Cordillera - Netizens were quick to appreciate the generosity of the owner of this local eatery in Baguio city who offered free meal to BENECO MCOs doing meter maintenance. 

Beneco linemen Xaxon Allasiw and Claver Alam-am were in the area fixing and replacing defective meter when they went to have lunch at Emachouse Eatery. When they asked for their bill, the owner just handed this folded receipt with the message, "Laban Beneco Free". Xaxon and Claver were speechless, according to a post from Beneco Employees Labor Union.

Meanwhile, netizens shared their appreciations to the kind owner of the restaurant.

"Another better way to help those who are working hard for the good of the people, for our community. Others may say, its their Job. But what the linemen do beyond hours, rain or shine, is something not many can do especially in times of calamities. We thank our linemen and our fellow who are kind to help them in return," one netizens wrote. 

Another commented "Let us support this establishments who are kind enough to support our fight. So please keep on posting this establishments ta isu isuport ti legit MCOs isu manlng ti bingay tayu dyta ta ad ado pay tulungan da... God bless your kind heart".

Recently, hundreds of MCOs marched to the cooperative's main office to peacefully retake the headquarter which was illegally occupied by NEA-appointed general manager Ana Marie Rafael and supervisor Omar Mayo.

BENECO offers discounts to consumers for April and May through Pantawid Liwanag Program

Cordillera - Member Consumer Owners (MCOs) of the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) will receive discounts to their bill for April and May according to the latest advisory from the BENECO management. 

"We wish to inform our Member Consumer Owners (MCOs) that BENECO will implement its "Pantawid Liwanag Program" for April and May 2020 as a means to help our MCOs cope with the adverse impact of the enhanced community quarantine," it says.

BENECO will provide the following:

April 2020

  • Free electricity for Lifeline residential consumers who consumed 30kWhrs and below
  • Php100 discount on the bills of residential consumer who used 31-100kWhrs

May 2020

  • Php100 discount on the bill of residential consumers who used 31-100kWhrs

The electric bills for April and May 2020 will be based on actual meter readings. Those who consumed 30kWhrs and below need not pay their bill for April. Those who consumed 31kWhrs to 100kWhrs will have a discount of Php100 on April. Those who consumed 101 to 200kWhrs will also have a discount in May. 

For those who have already paid their bills before the release of the advisory, the amount of subsidy will be credited to their accounts as advance/partial payment for 30kWhrs and below and advance/partial payment for 31kWhrs and above.
